Sticker 2 Cullumpton Rangers 2
Sticker playing their penultimate home game and last one under lights started off very brightly and had plenty of thye play and took the lead direct from a corner taken by Frank McAvoy. 1-0. Jack Bowyer added a second not long after when he received the ball on the left of the penalty area and beat two men before slotting it past the keeper. 2-0 A typical close control Jack Bowyer goal!! This seemed to wake the Cullumpton players up and had most of the play in the remaining part of the first half without creating any worthwhile efforts on goal. H/T.2-0.
The second started exactly as the first half had finished with Sticker having to defend deep and Cullumpton making good use of the especially humping the ball up to their wide players particularly on the right wing where this player was very tricky and created all sorts of mayhem but Sticker held firm for a short while when a cross was flashed in and got a touch. 2-1. Sticker were really struggling now and even they were having to hump the ball forward but whereas we have Jack Bowyer who is lightening fast his strike partner Joel Cockings is not and consequently no sooner had the ball been pumped into the Cullumpton half it came straight back and usually found the right winger who waited while his team mates rushed forward en-masse to cause the Sticker defence to defend desperately. They managed this until another cross was flashed in and it looked liked the ball came off a Sticker players knee before ending up in the back of the net. 2-2. Cullumpton looked the they were going to get all three points now but Sticker would not lie down and player/manager Andy Avery and his partner and captain Mickey Rowles-Jane both having a magnificent game urging their team mates forward.. Time for some substitutes! Sticker supporters favourite Matt Lloyd on followed by Andrew Butler and finally Rory Jarvis. two opportunities to win the game fell to firstly Matt Lloyd who burst through down the left advancing towards the keeper leaving the defender in his wake struck a wonderful left foot strike which just went over the bar. Not long after Jack Bowyer burst through but alas his first touch was too strong and he was unable to get his shot away as the keeper got to the ball first. F/T. 2-2. Honours even and a good entertaining game to watch enjoyed by both sets of supporters.
